First Communion is one of the ceremonies being done in a Catholic church. It also serves as a colloquial name for an individual's first notion about the sacrament of the Eucharist, also known as the Holy Communion from which Christians commemorate the Last Supper, the final meal that Jesus Christ shared with his disciples before his arrest and eventual crucifixion. This rite recalls the time when Jesus shared bread with his disciples and changed it to His body while the wine represents his blood. Jesus instructed them to "do this in remembrance of Me."
